Molly Nelsen Smith Obituary, Indianapolis, Indiana — The Indianapolis community is mourning the passing of Molly Nelsen Smith, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and devoted animal lover whose life was defined by kindness, compassion, and a genuine love for those around her. Molly passed away peacefully at her home in Indianapolis on the evening of July 12, 2026, at the age of 30.
Molly was remembered by family and friends as a free spirit with a generous heart who brought warmth and happiness to the people fortunate enough to know her. She had a special bond with animals, particularly her dogs Zeus and Hazel, whom she lovingly considered her children. Her dedication to caring for them reflected the compassion and tenderness that were central parts of her character.
Beyond caring for her own pets, Molly extended her love for animals throughout the community. She supported local shelters by organizing donations and helping efforts aimed at providing care and assistance to animals in need. Her actions reflected her belief in showing kindness not only to people but also to the animals she cared deeply about.

Molly is survived by her parents, Todd and Kelly (Stellato) Smith; her brother and sister-in-law, Zach and Luci Smith; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ally (Smith) and Andy Adams. She will also be deeply missed by her nephews, Taylor Smith, Zander Smith, and Knox Adams; her nieces, Aria Adams, Selah Smith, and Lennon Smith; her grandmothers, Janet Smith and Barbara Littell Taylor; her significant other, Charles Morlock; along with four aunts, five uncles, and nine cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Neil Smith and Ralph Stellato, as well as her beloved cat, Pixie.
A celebration of Molly’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, which would have been her birthday, at Ironwood Social from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and reflect on the impact she made during her life.
