The incident also resulted in the death of a 29-year-old woman, identified by authorities as the mother of Lindsey’s child, leaving a family and community grieving.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, officers responded to the residence in the 500 block of Mack Drive around 8:40 a.m. after an E911 call reported that an individual was threatening to harm himself and that there was possibly a deceased person inside the home. When officers arrived and attempted to make contact, they heard a gunshot and immediately entered the residence.
Inside the home, officers located a toddler who was unharmed and safely removed the child from the residence.
