Jayce Alan Hall Obituary, YAMHILL COUNTY, Ore. — Jayce Alan Hall, a 19-year-old Salem resident, has died following a head-on collision involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck on Highway 18 in Yamhill County. His unexpected passing has left family, friends, and members of the Salem community mourning the loss of a young life.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:06 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, near milepost 58 on Highway 18, west of Newberg, according to the Oregon State Police. Authorities said Hall was driving a silver Honda Civic westbound on the highway when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the eastbound lane.

Investigators reported that the Honda Civic entered the path of a white International commercial motor vehicle driven by Robert Emmanuel Hunter, 43, of Portland. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing severe damage to Hall’s vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where Hall was found with fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.

A passenger in Hall’s vehicle, 18-year-old Isaiah Jacob Aas of Salem, was seriously injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not released additional information regarding his condition.

The driver of the commercial truck, Robert Emmanuel Hunter, was not injured in the collision. According to Oregon State Police, Hunter remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators as they worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The collision led to a significant emergency response, with Highway 18 affected for approximately five hours while authorities investigated the scene and crews cleared the wreckage. Several agencies assisted, including the Newberg-Dundee Police Department, Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Newberg Fire Department, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

As the investigation continues, the Salem community remembers Jayce Alan Hall and mourns the loss of a young man whose life ended far too soon. His passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life, and condolences are extended to all those affected by this tragic loss.
