Elena Moore Obituary: Beloved Personal Trainer and Compassionate Soul Elena Katherine Moore-Slice Remembered in Lexington, South Carolina

Elena Katherine Moore-Slice Obituary, Lexington, SC — Elena Katherine Moore-Slice, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, personal trainer, and friend whose kindness and compassion touched many lives, is being remembered for the joy, encouragement, and love she brought to those around her.

Born on November 19, 1986, in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Elena spent her early childhood in an orphanage before her life took a new direction when she was adopted by Richard and Jean Moore at the age of 7½ and brought to San Antonio, Texas. Her family often shared a meaningful story about her early years, including how she was the only young girl in the orphanage with long hair because a caretaker lovingly cared for it each evening.

When Elena joined the Moore family, she knew only two English words: “Mickey Mouse.” Despite the challenges of learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture, she quickly embraced her new home and worked hard to learn English. She became known for her determination, warmth, and ability to connect easily with others.

Throughout her childhood, Elena developed a love for athletics, creativity, and adventure. She participated in gymnastics and swimming, learned to play the flute, and embraced an active lifestyle. Over the years, her family lived in several places, including Texas, Germany, Georgia, and Arizona, but Elena eventually built the life she loved in the South.

In 2013, Elena met Brannon Slice, who became her best friend and future husband. Together, they shared a life filled with love, companionship, and adventure. Those who knew Elena described her as beautiful, kind, generous, spontaneous, and someone who had a special ability to make people feel valued and seen.

In 2020, Elena became a certified personal trainer, allowing her to pursue her passion for helping others become healthier, stronger, and more confident. She enjoyed the outdoors and found happiness in activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, surfing, rollerblading, hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. Through her work and personal relationships, she inspired many people with her encouragement and positive spirit.

Elena is survived by her husband, Brannon Slice; her parents, Richard and Jean Moore; her parents-in-law, Bobby and Joanne Slice; her siblings Daniel Sergey Moore, Richard John Moore, and Sarah Jean Moore; her sisters-in-law Brittany Slice and Jersey Bulinsky; her beloved Yorkie-Poodle companion, Steeler; and many extended family members, friends, and clients who will continue to cherish her memory.

A memorial service for Elena Katherine Moore-Slice will be held Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to NAMI SC.

Elena’s life was defined by compassion, resilience, and the ability to bring light into the lives of others. She will be remembered not only for the challenges she overcame but for the love, encouragement, and kindness she shared throughout her life. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
