According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the intersection of US Highway 45 South and Old US Highway 45. Investigators said Rogers was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima eastbound on Old US Highway 45 when he attempted to cross US Highway 45 South.
Authorities reported that a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by Cynthia Wilhelm, 68, of Paducah, was traveling southbound on US Highway 45 South when the vehicles collided in a broadside impact. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance to both drivers.
Rogers was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from the injuries he sustained in the collision. Wilhelm was also taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Officials have not released any additional information regarding her condition.
