Brandon Overman and Chandler Kendall Obituary, Marshall County, Iowa – Brandon Overman, 31, and Chandler Kendall, 27, have died following a tragic motorcycle crash late Sunday night in Marshall County, Iowa. The two were killed after the motorcycle they were traveling on left the roadway during a passing maneuver, according to authorities with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. on 295th Street near Rhodes, in the 1300 block of 295th Street. Overman, who was operating the motorcycle, and Kendall, who was riding as a passenger, were both found unresponsive several yards away from the motorcycle after being ejected during the collision.
Overman was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Kendall was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Des Moines for emergency medical care, but despite medical efforts, she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The deaths of Overman and Kendall have left family, friends, and the Marshall County community mourning the loss of two lives taken far too soon.
According to the preliminary investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, Overman was traveling eastbound on 295th Street when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a designated no-passing zone. Authorities said the motorcycle was unable to safely navigate an approaching curve following the maneuver, causing the driver to lose control.
The motorcycle then left the roadway and slid into a ditch, ejecting both occupants several yards from the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and immediately began assessing the situation, but the injuries suffered by both victims proved fatal.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances that led to the collision. No additional details have been released regarding the investigation.
